You have 7 days to capture something old.
Time has a way of leaving its mark on everything. This week, we’re focusing on Something Old—an opportunity to explore the charm, nostalgia, and significance of objects, places, or even concepts that have stood the test of time.
Some ideas to get you going: a weathered barn, a crumbling wall, or a rusty piece of machinery. A beloved family keepsake, vintage clothing, or an old book. Or perhaps it’s Nature’s aging: driftwood, a gnarled tree, or the texture of dried leaves.
ABOUT THE PHOTO: Found in Southern Arkansas while metal detecting near an old Civil War Era site. This lock was produced from 1861 to 1865 by Davenport Mallory and Co. a forge that was located in New Haven, CT. It was advertised as a Smokehouse Iron Padlock. The padlock sold for 50 cents a dozen and approximately 2000 were produced in a day. Assuming it was made at the end or the run in 1865 that makes this lock approximately – 160 years old.
The Extra Challenge this week was Photo Stacking. This photo is a conglomerate of 5 photos using that method.
